Key performance indicators (KPIs) and cockpits
18 December 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
Project-oriented organizations want to know which completed projects were particularly successful. And also which ongoing projects are doing well. The decisive factor is the achievement of impact targets: What should the projects achieve? But the implementation goals are also relevant: How much funding should the projects get by with? Key performance indicators can be a good tool for measuring the achievement of objectives. This allows projects to be compared with each other as objectively as possible. In this webinar, we will show you what options PQFORCE offers for managing KPIs in projects as well as at portfolio level. We will discuss typical KPIs and how they can be stored in the system and where. We will also demonstrate how customer-specific JS automations can be used to calculate the KPIs on a project-specific basis and consolidate and visualize them in the portfolio.

Webinar #27
Project status reports and change requests
20 November 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
An ongoing project is not only checked again for target achievement when it is completed. It is worthwhile for the client to check in regularly and ask the project management to show them where the project currently stands, what has been achieved so far and what the outlook is. It is also not uncommon for the framework conditions to change during the course of implementation. The project management should inform the client of this at an early stage and be able to revise the specifications such as time, budget or scope with change requests. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how project status reports and change requests can be designed in PQFORCE. We will show how such report types are completed and submitted via a workflow for review and approval. We look at how reminders can be set up. And finally, we show how a traffic light overview of projects can be called up at portfolio level.

Webinar #26
Project costs under control: planning, budgeting, monitoring
23 October 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
Project budgets are not simply allocated at random. You often have a "pot" of money, a global budget, and try to allocate this money to ongoing projects and new project ideas in the best possible way. How do you go about this? In this webinar, we will show you the different cost levels. What are planned costs in a project? What are budgets? And what is the relationship between actual and forecast costs? We will discuss how project costs can be recorded and planned as cost items so that a budget can be allocated on this basis. And we show how cost items can be linked to the Gantt plan in order to obtain dynamic cost planning and thus be able to provide the annual budgets required in the future in good time.

Search, request and release resources
18 September 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
Finding the right person for a project task is exactly what PQFORCE does very well. Once we have created the work breakdown structure for a project with all its tasks, we can easily find the resource with the right skills and sufficient availability for each individual task. But will we get this resource approved? In this webinar, we show how resources can be allocated to project tasks. We will discuss how to use a workflow to request such allocations. And we will discuss how resource managers check and approve such requests. We also show how we can deal with the fact that tasks sometimes change, e.g. take longer, and how resource releases are affected by this.

Project phase models: Requesting and releasing phases - with a focus on HERMES
14 August 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
There are various project management methods. Many of these are waterfall methods and are based on a phase model. Large, long-lasting projects in particular are often divided into phases. Such project phases usually end with a milestone, at which important intermediate goals must be achieved before the next phase can begin. Milestones are acceptance points in the project at which the phase results and objectives are formally checked and approved. In this webinar, we will discuss the HERMES model and show how it can be mapped in PQFORCE. We will go into the configuration options of the PQFORCE Enterprise Edition and demonstrate how phase transitions can be controlled using the release workflow.

Webinar #22
How do we bring users to PQFORCE?
22 May 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
Probably the most important questions in this webinar series: How do we get users onto PQFORCE? How do we organize the transition from the previous way of working to the new real-time world? How do we get portfolio managers and project managers to break free from habits and home-made tools and maintain their valuable data with PQFORCE? The introduction of an enterprise SaaS solution is not simply a technical IT project, but rather an organizational change project. And not all employees find it immediately easy to break away from habits that have been built up over the years and think in new ways. In this webinar, we will address such challenges and highlight best practice approaches.

Webinar #21
How do we connect existing systems to PQFORCE?
24 April 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
In larger companies, a company-wide SaaS solution always requires interfaces to third-party systems. Typically, a connection to an ERP system such as SAP is required in order to view financial data such as budgets or invoices in the projects. But a Microsoft Exchange Server also already contains data that is closely related to the resources in PQFORCE, e.g. absences. And finally, a single sign-on via an identity provider system such as Active Directory is always in demand. In this webinar, we will discuss the possibilities that PQFORCE offers to be seamlessly embedded in an existing IT landscape.

Webinar #20
How does today's data get into PQFORCE?
20 March 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
When introducing PQFORCE, you don't want to start with an empty production system. Every organization has already been using a lot of project and resource data for a long time - often in local, distributed Excel lists, which they now want to finally replace with PQFORCE. How do we transfer this data to PQFORCE? What challenges do we face? How do we map the various tables into the PQFORCE data model? In this webinar, we will show you solutions to these questions. But we will also show where the limits of technical feasibility are and how we can deal with them organizationally.

28 February 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
An enterprise platform such as PQFORCE cannot be introduced in just a few days. It involves numerous future users with different roles, ranging from a few dozen to thousands. How do you go about it? We outline an implementation strategy in 3 phases and explain the critical challenges and how to overcome them. Which key players need to be brought on board? How do we organize the requirements management and ensure a timely but also pragmatic implementation in the pilot phase? How do we carry out the rollout and user training? We answer these questions in this webinar.

Webinar #18
How does PQFORCE move an organization forward?
24 January 2024 | 16:00-16:45h
Even today, organizations still often use decentralized IT solutions of their own design for project and resource management. True to the motto "To each his own". In this webinar, we will shed light on the weaknesses of such often Excel-based IT tools in project portfolio management. We will show how PQFORCE improves the efficiency of an organization by bringing together distributed project and resource data in real time, thus significantly accelerating decision-making and making the company more agile.

Amendments: Keeping control
13 Decembre 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
Change requests are closely related to status reports: While a status report provides information on where a project stands in relation to its objectives, a change request is a possible consequence of unsatisfactory project progress. Hardly any project achieves all of its impact and execution objectives. If objectives are endangered or, at the latest, if they are no longer achievable at all, there is no way around adjustments. Such goal changes can concern the project execution (more money, more time, etc.), or also the expected impact (smaller scope, smaller effect, etc.).

Status reports: Are we on track?
15 Novembre 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
A project is sent on its way with an order. The client defines what is to be achieved with the project impact goals. Along the way, it therefore makes sense to regularly ask oneself whether the project is still on the right track and whether the goals are still realistic. During project execution, the project management status report periodically shows the health of the project. To enable us to now compare projects in a portfolio and get a quick overview, traffic lights are a proven way to do this. In this webinar, we will go into such methods and other aspects.

Risk management: Why it matters
25 Octobre 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
Every project involves risks. Things go wrong that were not planned and certainly not wanted. Such eventualities cannot always be prevented, but they can at least be mitigated. An important question is which risks are more critical and therefore require more attention. Which risks cause the greatest damage when they occur? And how likely are they to occur in the first place? In this webinar, we will explore such questions and discuss how to identify and best manage the "relevant risks" for a project.

Goals and requirements: Any difference?
23 August 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
Goals and requirements - two supposedly quite different concepts. But appearances are deceptive. There are clear connections. Unfortunately, the bridge between goals and requirements is not built often enough in many projects. With a systematic approach in project initialization and in the concept phase, many misunderstandings that may arise in later phases can be avoided. Conscious design decisions in the early project phases help.

Define roles and their permissions
14 June 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
In PQFORCE there are many users and each of them works differently with the system, depending on their function and tasks. This is what the user roles are for. They assign permissions to the users, with which they can then perform their tasks and see and edit the respective data - or not. In this webinar, we will show how the authorization system works conceptually, how roles and their authorizations are defined, and also how the concrete authorizations of users can be retrieved.

Set up role-specific email reminders
10 May 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
Every now and then it happens that an employee forgets to fulfill his duties and, for example, enters important information for others in PQFORCE. Hours worked are forgotten to be recorded. Requested resources are not released. Or change requests are not checked and approved. In such cases, a system that periodically reminds users of outstanding tasks can help. Such e-mail notifications can be set up in a customer-specific and role-appropriate manner. Here we show how it can be done.

Generate automated e-mail reports
12 April 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
The PQFORCE server contains extremely valuable data about projects and resources. This can be used to generate many types of summaries, so-called reports, which serve as a basis for management decisions. In this webinar we will show how JavaScript automations can be used to compile such customized reports from the raw data and send them periodically or even ad hoc by e-mail. From this, any further evaluations or charts can then be generated, e.g. in Excel or other data processing and visualization programs.

Simple automated field calculations with JavaScript
15 March 2023 | 16:00-17:00h
The PQFORCE server is programmed in Java. Nevertheless, it also understands the programming language JavaScript (JS). Thus, customer-specific automations can be programmed in JS and injected into the server via the API. This results in an almost inexhaustible number of use cases. In this webinar, we'll use the simplest examples to show how this can be done without having to be a JS crack. We'll take the case where a field is to be automatically calculated and populated. From this we can then derive any similar cases.
